ABC Awnings guide to spring – Townsville

Here at ABC Awnings, we consider ourselves to have to be quite the experts when it comes to the Australian landscape and climate.

This is essential, as after all we are in the business of dealing with the sun (or rather stopping it!!).  In today’s blog post, we will take a break from our traditional articles to educate our Townsville readers on what to expect in one of our favourite seasons of the year – spring of course!

How hot will it get?

Based on figures and statistics taken directly from the Bureau of Meteorology, Townsville should expect to heat up over the coming months.  Average maximum temperatures will climb from 27 to nearly 31 degrees over the spring period, with minimums expected to stay around the low 20’s.

How long will the days be?

One of the great things about spring is that the days start to get longer.  On average, we should expect to get about 9.5 hours of sunlight every day!  Unfortunately since we don’t have daylight savings, this means that you will have to battle that morning sunlight as you try to get a good night’s sleep… of course if you had some new blinds, awnings or shutters…

Will it rain a lot?

While the average rainfall suggests that it will remain relatively dry before heading into the wet season, we all saw how wet it was last year – as a matter of fact, it was been recorded as the second wettest year in recorded history!!

I think that it is safe to say that spring is well and truly upon us. If you would like to prepare your Townsville home for the inevitable heat and sunlight that is synonymous with spring, please don’t hesitate to contact ABC Awnings for a shade solution on 1300 767 756.
